Dries Van Noten unveils limited-edition Soie Malaquais fragrance in porcelain bottle
Limited to 100 pieces worldwide, the collector's edition of Soie Malaquais will be available from January 2026 with a retail price of $685.
Dries Van Noten has introduced a limited-edition version of its signature Soie Malaquais fragrance, featuring a redesigned porcelain bottle finished with hand-applied gold detailing.
Named after the designer’s boutique on Paris’ Quai Malaquais, Soie Malaquais has become one of the more recognizable scents in the brand’s fragrance line. It is built around the idea of translating the texture and fluidity of silk into scent through a mix of warm, soft notes.
Created by perfumer Marie Salamagne, the fragrance draws inspiration from a visit to Dries Van Noten’s garden. It centers on a chestnut accord, layered with vanilla, cocoa, and Peru balsam, and is lifted by a silk-inspired blend of aldehydic rose, blackcurrant, and cardamom.
The bottle reflects the brand’s ongoing interest in material contrasts and craft-led design. Developed in collaboration with artist Bouke de Vries and Paris-based Atelier Thierry, the porcelain vessel is finished with a thin layer of gold applied through a traditional gilding process.
The gold detailing sits against a blue, naturalistic pattern, with each bottle showing slight variations in its grooves and finish due to the handmade process.
Limited to 100 pieces worldwide, the collector’s edition will be available from January 2026 at $685.
The release extends the Soie Malaquais line and continues Dries Van Noten’s focus on fragrance as an intersection of scent, object, and design.
