The Federal Tax Authority (FTA) has launched early registration for corporate tax through EmaraTax, the UAE’s digital tax services platform, ahead of its implementation later this year.

According to the FTA, early registration is available for several UAE-based businesses from January to May 2023. The FTA will send invites to these chosen businesses via email and SMS, allowing them to register using the EmaraTax platform.

After this round, the FTA will reveal when registration is open to other enterprises and companies. The FTA will allow organizations and businesses enough time to submit registration applications and fulfill their legal requirements. Priority will be given to organizations and corporations whose fiscal year begins on June 1, when registration opens.

Since the announcement of corporate tax in the UAE, the Federal Tax Authority has intensified its efforts to develop implementation procedures in collaboration with the competent authorities.

“The authority prioritizes supporting all business sectors to comply with tax regulations and procedures through flexible mechanisms that align with international best practices,” said Khalid Ali Al Bustani, FTA Director-General.

The authority is committed to positioning itself as a partner and ally to business sectors, added Al Bustani, to safeguard their interests and support the national economy simultaneously through transparent procedures that strengthen the UAE’s competitive environment.
