For many people, road trips are the best way to travel. What’s not to love about seeing more of the country and discovering unique locales as you go? 

According to a new Skyscanner study, 79% of UAE travelers are likely to hire a car during their next holiday, and 98% are open to traveling to alternative or lesser-known destinations where public transportation might be limited.

According to the survey, 84% stated that sustainable practices are a core factor when searching for the ideal rental car to road trip with, with hybrid and electric vehicles being the top choice. In fact, 41% of participants cited having hired an electric or hybrid vehicle during their recent vacations, while 50% noted that they 

Ayoub El Mamoun, the Skyscanner travel expert, says, “As well as saving on fuel, choosing an electric vehicle (EV) means you’ll also be exempt from low-emission zone charges in some cities, and enjoy free parking, provided they’re plugged into a charging point.”

The study also revealed the top destinations for road trips, with the Middle East (42%), Europe (21%), and Asia (12%) topping the list for preferred road trip holidays amongst UAE travelers.
