Among the several events that line up UAE’s busy events calendar, few compare to Comic Con; it’s getting better each year. This year’s Middle East Film and Comic Con (MEFCC) Abu Dhabi, from March 3 – 5, will be a star-studded affair with some of the biggest stars heading to the capital.
Hollywood star Andy Serkis, who featured in Lord of the Rings, Planet of the Apes trilogy, The Adventures of Tintin, and Star Wars, among many others, will be at the event.
And there is good news for Star Wars fans as well. Anthony Daniels, the actor that brought the golden droid, Professor C-3PO, to life, will be in attendance as well. Daniels played a part in many of the franchise’s spin-offs and is the latest celebrity announced as part of the star-studded line-up heading to the capital.
Other celebrities in attendance include comic book artist Ken Lashley, acclaimed for titles including Excalibur, Black Panther, X-Men, Spiderman, Flash, JLA, and Superman; Matt Smith (House of the Dragon and Doctor Who star); and Broadway star Paige O’Hara, best known for voicing Belle in the Disney animated film Beauty and the Beast.
This year some of the exciting features of MEFCC include a dedicated Gaming Arena (Middle East Games Con merged with MEFCC), which will offer fans unreleased games, eSports tournaments, gaming software, and more.
