In the last decade, Saudi Arabia has ventured into various endeavors – from ambitious infrastructure projects to strategic investments in advanced research and development – positioning itself as a serious player in the world of innovation.

As the nation continues its relentless pursuit of innovation, it ascends in the Global Innovation Index (GII) year after year. In 2023, Saudi Arabia ranked 48th, improving its positions in 2022 and 2021. 

The country is channeling its efforts into various initiatives and significant investments to cultivate an ecosystem conducive to creativity, research, and development.

Fast Company Middle East will produce a report and list of “The Most Innovative Companies in the Kingdom” in partnership with the Research, Development, and Innovation Authority (RDIA). 

A comprehensive analysis of the country’s dynamic innovation landscape will highlight key milestones, advancements, and opportunities shaping Saudi Arabia’s journey toward becoming a global innovation powerhouse. 

The report will focus on the four national priorities for Research, Development, and Innovation – Energy and Industrial Leadership, Sustainable Environment and Supply of Essential Needs, Health and Wellness, and  Economies of the Future.

All prominent companies from these critical sectors based in Saudi Arabia will be contacted for surveys and in-depth interviews.  

The Research, Development, and Innovation Authority (RDIA), which is dedicated to driving forward the Kingdom’s efforts in research, development, and innovation, will play a significant role in producing the report. 

Fast Company is known for its several influential and impactful lists that recognize innovation, creativity, and leadership across various industries. These lists serve as a barometer for identifying the state of innovation in the region and globally.
