Saudi Arabia launches world’s first diabetes command-and-control center to advance preventive healthcare
The new center will allow digital tracking of the vital signs of diabetic patients across the Kingdom
Saudi Minister of Health and Chairman of the Health Holding Company Fahad AlJalajel on Monday inaugurated the world’s first diabetes command-and-control center, designed to enable proactive, electronic monitoring of patients’ health indicators.
The launch took place on the opening day of the eighth Global Health Exhibition at the Riyadh Exhibition and Convention Center in Malham, north of the capital.
According to the Health Holding Company, the new center will enable digital tracking of diabetic patients’ vital signs across the Kingdom, allowing continuous monitoring and timely medical intervention to improve disease management.
The company said the initiative reflects Saudi Arabia’s commitment to advancing preventive healthcare and improving the quality of life through innovation that empowers patients to take an active role in managing their health.
It aligns with the Saudi Model of Care, which emphasizes prevention over treatment and prioritizes patient-centered services.
The diabetes command-and-control center also marks a milestone in the healthcare sector’s digital transformation, aiming to streamline service delivery and strengthen direct communication between doctors and patients.
The system is expected to help reduce complications associated with chronic diseases and enhance the overall efficiency of healthcare responses.
