The Central Bank of the United Arab Emirates has issued a silver commemorative coin to mark Emirati Children’s Day, which is observed annually on March 15.

The coin highlights the theme “The Right to Identity and National Culture,” underscoring the importance of preserving heritage and strengthening national identity among younger generations.

The obverse side of the coin features the nominal value of “15 dirhams,” symbolically referencing the date of the occasion, alongside the inscription “Central Bank of the UAE” in both Arabic and English.

On the reverse side, the design incorporates the official theme of the celebration accompanied by an artistic illustration of a fort, reflecting Emirati history and emphasizing the connection between children and their cultural roots.

According to Saif Humaid Al Dhaheri, Assistant Governor for Banking Operations and Support Services at the Central Bank, the issuance reflects the institution’s support for national initiatives that reinforce Emirati identity and promote a sense of belonging and citizenship within society.

He also highlighted the role of the Supreme Council for Motherhood and Childhood in protecting and nurturing children, strengthening their awareness of national identity, and promoting values of loyalty and belonging among younger generations.

A total of 2,000 silver coins have been issued, each weighing 28 grams. The Central Bank said the commemorative coin will be made available for purchase, with details on the release date and purchasing process to be announced later through its official website and social media channels.
