UAE ranks first globally with 89% satisfaction for digital government
The country leads 44 markets in satisfaction and use of digital government services as it prepares to expand AI-powered public services.
The UAE has ranked first among 44 countries for satisfaction with digital government services, as it advances its digital-first strategy, according to Boston Consulting Group’s 2026 Digital Government Citizen Survey.
The report, which surveyed 48,500 people, found that 89% of respondents in the UAE were satisfied with their interactions with digital government services.
The UAE also ranked first in digital government service usage, with 53% of respondents reporting that they use these services. Meanwhile, the report showed that more than three in four respondents said their most recent online government transaction delivered a better experience than they typically receive from private-sector companies.
Commenting on the achievement, His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, said in a post on X, “We are proud of our teams, proud of our journey to make people’s lives easier, and proud of our country, which provides the world’s best services to its citizens, visitors and residents.”
The UAE’s digital transformation is far from complete. Sheikh Mohammed signaled that further changes are ahead, saying, “The best is yet to come.”
“Next November, the UAE government will unveil, through a major event, the biggest transformation yet in the way its services are structured and delivered to the public,” he added.
The announcement comes as the UAE prepares to expand the use of artificial intelligence across government operations, with plans to transform 50% of government sectors, services and operations into autonomous, agentic AI models over two years.
The country is already seeing widespread adoption of the technology. According to the survey, 82% of UAE respondents use AI weekly, while 53% believe its benefits in government outweigh the risks, compared with 49% across the GCC and 36% globally.
The appetite for AI extends across the wider Gulf, where 79% of respondents said they were open to AI-powered government interactions, compared with 66% globally.
The findings highlight the UAE’s progress in digitizing public services as it moves toward a more AI-driven government. The next challenge will be ensuring these technologies can deliver faster, more efficient services without compromising security, reliability, or public trust.
