Foodics acquires AI Firm Norma to expand hospitality technology capabilities
The acquisition is expected to support Foodics’ development of agentic AI tools for restaurant operators.
Foodics, a restaurant operations and financial management platform serving the Middle East and North Africa, has completed the full acquisition of Greece-based artificial intelligence company Norma AI, further expanding its AI capabilities for the hospitality sector.
The transaction follows Foodics’ acquisition of an initial stake in Norma during the first quarter of 2025 and marks the completion of its 100% takeover of the company. Following the latest deal, Norma’s team has joined Foodics’ AI division, while the company’s Analytics Agent and business intelligence application have been fully integrated into the Foodics platform.
Norma had previously raised funding from strategic investors and joined the Foodics solutions marketplace before the two companies moved towards deeper integration.
Foodics said Norma’s technology has been adopted across more than 10,000 customer branches since its initial integration into the platform. The acquisition is expected to support the company’s efforts to develop agentic AI tools aimed at enhancing operational decision-making and providing restaurant operators with intelligent, real-time business insights.
“As the industry grew more complex, so did the data – and turning that data into fast, confident decisions became one of the biggest challenges operators face. Successful restaurants will be the ones who close that gap, utilizing intelligence in every layer of their operations,” said Ahmad AlZaini, Co-founder and Chief Executive Officer of Foodics, commenting on the transaction.
He added that the acquisition would accelerate the company’s AI product roadmap and strengthen its ability to help operators improve efficiency, decision-making and profitability.
George Henein, Co-founder of Norma, said the partnership would provide greater scale and resources to expand the adoption of the company’s AI and analytics technologies across the hospitality sector.
“Our goal was to help restaurants make better decisions by making data more accessible, and easier to use with an intuitive experience,” Henein states. “Combining Foodics’ market leadership with Norma’s expertise in AI and analytics creates a strong foundation for the next generation of hospitality technology.”
Foodics currently serves more than 40,000 branches across the GCC and North Africa. The company said the integration of Norma’s technology supports its strategy to further develop AI-powered solutions for restaurant and hospitality businesses.
