Saudi Arabia’s tourism sector is witnessing continued growth, with active commercial registrations in tourism-related activities increasing by 32% to 52% in 2026, according to the Ministry of Commerce.

The expansion reflects growing business and investment opportunities as the kingdom develops new tourism destinations and advances its Vision 2030 goals, according to the Saudi Press Agency.

Commercial registrations for tourist lodges recorded the highest growth, rising 52% year-on-year to 18,115 by the end of the third quarter of 2026, compared to 11,900 during the same period last year.

Meanwhile, registrations for tourist accommodation facilities increased by 37%, reaching 18,956, up from 13,819 in the third quarter of 2025.

The growth also extended to tourism services, with registrations for tour guides rising 33% to 7,735, compared to 5,784 a year earlier. Similarly, registrations for tour organization activities climbed 32% to 11,949, up from 9,057 during the same period in 2025.

The Ministry of Commerce said the increase in tourism-related economic activities reflects expanding opportunities for businesses and investors and supports commercial activity and the development of small and medium-sized enterprises.

The ministry also highlighted the kingdom’s strategic location, diverse natural landscapes, and rich cultural heritage as key factors strengthening its position as an emerging global tourism destination.

The growth comes as Saudi Arabia continues to diversify its economy under Vision 2030, with tourism playing an increasingly important role in attracting investment and creating opportunities across the hospitality and services sectors.
