The Middle East is fast moving towards Industry 4.0. At the Abu Dhabi International Petroleum Exhibition and Conference (ADIPEC), which concluded last week, a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed between Emirates integrated telecommunications company du and the Ministry of Industry and Advanced Technology (MoIAT). 

The agreement intends to accelerate industrial enterprises’ adoption of technology and their integration into routine business processes. 

Joining the UAE’s Champions 4.0 Network, du will assist five SMEs by utilizing its technological know-how to encourage the adoption of advanced technologies and generate fresh prospects for industrial investment.

“This MoU will support SMEs to adopt advanced technology, in turn increasing the investment opportunities within priority sectors and industries of the future,” said Sarah Al Amiri, Minister of State for Public Education and Advanced Technology, while adding, the company will leverage its advanced capabilities and extensive experience in technology and communications, building on its extensive work over the past decades to pioneer the country’s world-class technological infrastructure.
