UAE’s design community is rapidly growing and gaining local and international recognition. The nation has gained credence for its ambitious architecture, innovative interior design, and creative retail spaces, making it a hub for designers worldwide. In a recent announcement, the Abu Dhabi Music & Arts Foundation (ADMAF) and Dolce&Gabbana have teamed up to introduce an award for emerging Emirati fashion designers while paying homage to their heritage through design. 

The competition is open to current and recently graduated university students from the UAE and covers various design aspects, including clothing, jewelry, fragrance, and home decor. Finalists will receive the opportunity to gain the necessary skills to develop and realize their finished products through a trained internship in Italy. The products will be showcased to the public at Abu Dhabi Festival 2024.

H.E. Huda Alkhamis-Kanoo, the founder of the ADMAF and Artistic Director of the Abu Dhabi Festival, said, “Both ADMAF and D&G believe in the strong will for evolution—the will to create impact and inspire this generation and many more to come with knowledge, enlightenment, and creative ambition.”

D&G have previously dedicated their spaces in their boutiques to young designers and has supported the creation of collections by emerging fashion talents, allowing them to showcase their work during Milan Fashion Week.
