To enhance efforts to address water challenges and promote the integration of efforts to secure global water sustainability and exchange expertise to advance technology and innovation, Saudi Arabia’s Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman announced the launch of a global water organization in Riyadh. 

The organization will also support establishing and financing high-priority water projects that ensure the sustainability of water resources and accessibility for all.

Saudi Arabia emphasized its commitment to addressing water supply challenges, saying the initiative is “aligned with Saudi Arabia’s dedication to environmental sustainability.”

The kingdom has demonstrated its commitment to water, agriculture, and environmental projects through notable contributions and internationally recognized achievements. It has pledged $24.5 billion to help achieve objectives within interconnected social, environmental, and economic plans.

Saudi Arabia has also allocated over $6 billion in developmental funding for water and sanitation projects across four continents.

Secretary-general and founder of the Saudi Green Building Forum, 

Faisal Al-Fadl, said that the announcement by the Crown Prince signified the culmination of the kingdom’s commitment to Vision 2030.

“Such cooperation becomes even more vital with projections of the global water demand doubling by 2050, in light of the anticipated growth of the world population to 9.8 billion,” said the kingdom in their statement.
