The annual Watches and Wonders exhibition in Geneva featured a captivating display of women’s timepieces this year. The event highlighted the combination of sophisticated aesthetics with advanced technology.

Here are some of the names that made waves with their remarkable women’s watches at Watches and Wonders 2024.

CARTIER

Cartier Animal Jewelry Watch

Cartier’s watchmaking takes a bold step forward in 2024 with the introduction of their Animal Jewellery watch, known for its playful use of animal motifs. 

This year, the renowned jeweler unveils a captivating chimera – a watch entirely adorned in the contrasting patterns of zebra and crocodile.

The timepiece represents a captivating fusion of graphic design and organic inspiration. Each zebra stripe is meticulously hand-lacquered, resulting in a striking visual texture. This “imaginary creature” encircles a diamond-shaped dial, seemingly embracing it in a luxurious, wild embrace. The intricate engraving surrounding each colored gemstone further exemplifies Cartier’s exceptional craftsmanship.

This distinctive creation builds upon Cartier’s longstanding tradition of integrating animal motifs into their timepieces. The iconic panther debuted on a Cartier watch case in 1914, and since then, the brand has consistently pushed boundaries with its whimsical and unconventional designs.

CHOPARD

Chopard’s L’Heure du Diamant

Chopard’s L’Heure du Diamant collection shines a spotlight on the timeless allure of diamonds. Renowned for their expertise in jewelry watches, Chopard’s artisans have crafted a stunning fusion of contemporary design and the “queen of precious stones.”

The collection features a 26mm timepiece crafted from ethical gold. This creation is richly embellished with diamonds and boasts a choice of textured mother-of-pearl or luxurious malachite for the dial. A unique bark-style bracelet sculpted from gold using an in-house technique completes the ensemble.

The L’Heure du Diamant is not just beautiful, it’s technically impressive. Powered by the Chopard 10.01-C movement, one of the market’s smallest and thinnest mechanical manual-winding calibers, this watch is a testament to Chopard’s mastery of form and function. 

HERMÈS 

The Hermès Cut Watch

The Hermès Cut watch celebrates simplicity with its bold, geometric design. True to Hermès’ heritage, the timepiece features clean lines and sharp angles, resulting in a universally appealing yet distinctive identity.

The balanced proportions of its satin-brushed and polished case emphasize the watch’s character, highlighted by gleaming, clean-cut edges. A distinctive detail is a crown, positioned at an unexpected half-past-one location and adorned with a lacquered or engraved “H.”

The Hermès Cut watch is available in various options: entirely crafted in steel, a sleek combination of steel and rose gold, or adorned with 56 dazzling bezel-set diamonds. In each iteration, the timepiece exudes timeless personality and versatile style.

HUBLOT

Big Bang Integrated Time Only Watch

Hublot returns to its origins with the Big Bang Integrated Time Only, a timepiece that encapsulates the essence of the iconic “Big Bang” collection.

The distinctive case with its signature “ears,” the bezel adorned with H-screws, and the skeleton hands remain but have been reimagined for a more refined experience. This essence extends beyond aesthetics – the diameter has been reduced from 40mm to a more versatile 38mm.

The brand’s commitment to gender-neutral designs is evident in these six new models. The case and bracelet are integrated and crafted from the same material, ensuring a seamless look and feel.

Material options include brushed titanium with black or blue dials, 18k King Gold with the same dial color, and high-tech ceramic. The ceramic options include a striking all-navy blue version and a “Black Magic” edition featuring a completely blacked-out case, bracelet, and dial.

VAN CLEEF & ARPELS

Lady Arpels Jour Nuit watch

Van Cleef & Arpels unveils two new Lady Arpels Jour Nuit watches. Crafted over three years, these 33mm and 38mm timepieces feature a captivating display of the sun, moon, and stars gracefully moving across a rotating 24-hour dial.

Diamonds adorn the watches, with options for a sun crafted from either snow-set yellow sapphires or guilloché gold. Murano aventurine glass provides a mesmerizing backdrop, while delicate openwork reveals sparkling diamond stars.

Mother-of-pearl shrouds, adorned with guilloché patterns, symbolize the horizon (white for 38mm, blue for 33mm). A sapphire case back reveals the mechanics and a star-studded oscillating weight adorned with a miniature, enameled fairy gazing at the celestial spectacle. 

PARMIGIANI FLEURIER

Tonda PF Automatic 36mm Watch

Parmigiani Fleurier introduces a striking addition to its Tonda PF Automatic 36mm collection: a two-tone model seamlessly merging modern luxury with the line’s inherent elegance and inclusivity.

The key to this design achievement lies in using 18-karat rose gold. Parmigiani Fleurier has meticulously applied this precious metal to accentuate specific architectural elements of the case and bracelet. The result is a captivating interplay of materials that enhances the watch’s aesthetics.

The signature teardrop lugs, crafted from rose gold, serve as the starting point for the integrated bracelet. This bracelet features a captivating mix of finishes. Polished stainless steel links flank the ends, while the central horizontal link boasts a luxurious satin finish. 

Powering the Tonda PF Automatic 36mm is the in-house Calibre PF770 movement. This 36mm caliber, crafted to Parmigiani Fleurier’s exacting standards, boasts a 60-hour power reserve and finishing, including beveled steel and beautifully decorated surfaces.

ORIS HÖLSTEIN

Oris Aquis Date Watch

The new Aquis Date reflects Oris’ commitment to contemporary luxury: timepieces that blend style, functionality, and sustainability for today’s global citizens. As a modern and versatile watch, it appeals to those who appreciate design, mechanics, and the independent spirit of Swiss watchmaking.

Building on the iconic Aquis design, known for its durability and performance in the deep sea, this new generation introduces innovative features. The Oris-patented Quick Strap Change system allows easy customization, while the new quick-adjust clasp system enhances convenience.

Catering to diverse preferences, Oris introduces the 36.50mm Aquis Date with a fresh aesthetic and bracelet design. Co-CEO Rolf Studer notes the demand for watches tailored to women, blending functionality with a touch of elegance. This variant offers a refined and upscale look, appealing to those seeking functionality and sophistication.

NOMOS GLASHÜTTE

NOMOS Glashütte Tangente 38 Watch

NOMOS Glashütte, known for its expertise in colorful watchmaking, presents a bold move with its iconic Tangente. At Watches and Wonders Geneva, the brand introduced a vibrant collection of 31 limited-edition Tangente 38 Date models, each marking 175 years of Glashütte watchmaking.

This special edition represents a notable departure from the Tangente’s traditional design of three decades. Each of the 31 color variations, limited to 175 pieces, showcases chronometer-level precision, reaffirming NOMOS’ dedication to quality.

The collection celebrates the influence of color, symbolizing individuality, diversity, and vibrancy. While modifying such a well-established icon entails risks, NOMOS ensures that the classic Tangente’s fundamental charm remains unchanged.

TUDOR

TUDOR’s Clair de Rose Watch

TUDOR’s new Clair de Rose watch combines heritage and modern design elements. Inspired by the art-deco era of the early 1930s, this feminine timepiece reflects TUDOR’s rich history in a contemporary context.

The Clair de Rose line presents a modern take on TUDOR’s heritage, blending delicate aesthetics with bold statements. Inspired by past collections like the “Miss TUDOR,” it features a winding crown adorned with a precious spinel cabochon, a signature element of the Clair de Rose line.

The Clair de Rose also features a distinctive five-link stainless steel bracelet, the “beads of rice” bracelet. Its finely engineered links and compact size ensure comfort and suppleness, while the polished finish adds a touch of sophistication to the wrist.

RAYMOND WEIL

Raymond Weil’s Millesime Collection Watch

Raymond Weil’s “millesime” collection for women embraces a lunar theme in 2024, introducing five new additions based on the existing 2125 and 2145 references. These elegant timepieces are housed in a 35mm stainless steel case.

The 2125 model exudes a contemporary spirit with a neo-vintage twist. Available with a central second hand, it offers three distinct dial options: silver, denim blue, and burgundy. Each dial features a unique blend of geometric lines and a sector dial design.

The 2145 offers two striking color combinations in a moon phase design: rose gold PVD steel with a silver dial or stainless steel with a denim blue dial. The denim blue dial models feature lugs adorned with a modern, feminine touch – 16 sparkling laboratory-grown diamonds (0.24 carats) that merge classic elegance with a hint of sensuality.
