Gulf Contracting & Landscaping expands Abu Dhabi nursery to support UAE’s green vision
The new facility spanning 1.25 million square feet accommodates over a million plants, all carefully selected to thrive in the region's climate.
Gulf Contracting & Landscaping (GCL) has unveiled a significantly expanded plant nursery in Al Rahba, Abu Dhabi, reinforcing its position as a leading player in the UAE’s growing landscaping industry. Spanning 1.25 million square feet, the new facility accommodates over a million plants carefully selected to thrive in the region’s climate.
This expansion aligns with the UAE’s escalating commitment to sustainable urban development. Initiatives such as Dubai’s Quality of Life Strategy 2033 and Abu Dhabi’s 2030 Urban Structure Framework Plan underscore the rising demand for green spaces and landscaping projects. GCL’s expanded nursery offers a wide variety of over 300 plants, shrubs, trees, and ground cover, catering to both their landscaping projects and external developments.
This commitment extends beyond the Al Rahba facility, with GCL expanding nurseries across the UAE and the GCC region. They are also planning a new, larger facility that will exceed 1.5 million square feet, scheduled for completion in 2025.
“We are committed to playing an integral role in making the UAE greener in line with the leadership’s vision for enhancing quality of life,” stated GCL CEO Rami Hamad. “We see great potential to provide local, sustainable solutions for such projects,” Hamad continued. “By using the latest engineering technologies to maximize efficiencies and preserve natural ecosystems,” he added.
