Oman’s GDP grows by 1.7% in Q1 2024, reaching $24.77 billion

In Q1 2024, Oman's industrial activities reached $5.1 billion, agriculture contributed $568 million, and services totaled $11.9 billion.

Oman’s gross domestic product (GDP) grew by 1.7% in the first quarter of 2024, reaching $24.77 billion, compared to $24.34 billion in the same period of 2023.

This data comes from Oman’s National Center for Statistics and Information (NCSI), indicating a 3.3% decline in crude oil activities and a 3% increase in natural gas activities during the stated period.

Meanwhile, non-oil sectors experienced substantial growth, expanding by 4.5% from $16.8 billion in Q1 2023 to $17.6 billion in Q1 2024.

Additionally, industrial activities increased from $4.8 billion in Q1 2023 to $5.1 billion in Q1 2024. The agriculture, forestry, and fishing sectors contributed $568 million, while service activities totaled $11.9 billion during the same period.

The Oman Central Bank (OCB) announced this week that the total value of government treasury bills allocated is $80.93 million. Specifically, according to the statement released by OCB, $38.97 million is allocated for the 28-day maturity treasury bills.
