Egypt’s ‘Mashroa’ak’ Program: $598 million investment fuels 1.4 million jobs and 212,800 projects

Egypt has been empowering its community and fostering economic growth through itsMashroa’akNational Program for Community, Human, and Local Development, launched in 2015. Since its inception, the program has supported implementing over 212,800 projects, injecting approximately $598.1 million into the economy and creating over 1.442 million job opportunities across all governorates.

Manal Awad, Minister of Local Development, said that these achievements align with President Abdel Fattah Al-Sisi’s vision to combat unemployment through innovative solutions that foster comprehensive development. 

“TheMashroa’akprogram is steadily advancing and achieving significant success in driving community development in villages, neighborhoods, cities, and districts while also providing genuine job opportunities and promoting sustainable and comprehensive development throughout the country,she added.

The initiative is open to all age groups interested in establishing small and medium-sized projects in agriculture, industry, services, commerce, marketing, freelance work, and livestock activities.

“We recognize the significant role that small enterprises play in job creation and economic development, often evolving into medium and large-scale businesses,said Awad, affirming her support for the program’s coming phase, which aims to make it a driving force for comprehensive development nationwide.

This will be done in coordination with the six participating banks: Banque Misr, the National Bank of Egypt, the Agricultural Bank of Egypt, Banque du Caire, the Bank of Alexandria, and the Housing and Development Bank, ensuring the provision of necessary funding for approved projects.
