Dubai Chamber of Commerce has introduced a new Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) Label to encourage emirate businesses to adopt more sustainable practices.

Created by the Chamber’s Centre for Responsible Business, the label evaluates companies’ ESG maturity and provides a roadmap for enhancing their sustainability performance.

Mohammad Ali Rashed Lootah, President and CEO of Dubai Chambers, emphasized the importance of ESG in today’s business landscape, stating,By shifting the emphasis from corporate social responsibility to ESG labeling, we aim to encourage businesses to adopt comprehensive strategies that embed sustainability into their core operations and decision-making processes.”

Organizations of any size with at least two years of operation are eligible to apply for this initiative. Successful applicants will align with ESG best practices, enhance their brand image, and increase their appeal to potential investors.

Participants will receive a feedback report highlighting areas for improvement and a maturity level score based on their overall ESG performance. Once awarded, the Dubai Chamber of Commerce ESG Label certificate is valid for one year.

In a recent virtual roadshow hosted by the Chamber, 224 participants explored ESG concepts, the framework’s development, and the ESG Label application process.

The Dubai Chamber of Commerce’s Centre for Responsible Business is crucial in promoting sustainable practices in the emirate. It guides companies to adopt ESG best practices that enhance performance, competitiveness, and contributions to society and the environment.
