Abu Dhabi’s AI industry grows 41.3% in H1 2024, adding 90 new companies
The emirate saw the establishment of one AI company every two days during H1 2024, a report outlined.
By the end of Q2 2024, Abu Dhabi had registered 400 artificial intelligence companies, indicating significant growth in the emirate’s AI sector. 90 new AI companies were registered in the first half of 2024 alone, a 41.3% increase compared to H1 2023.
The Abu Dhabi Chamber of Commerce and Industry also reported that one AI company was established every two days during the first half of 2024. In the second quarter of 2024, commercial activities related to innovation, AI research, and consultancies were the most prevalent, accounting for 69% of all activities.
Following AI training activities, which comprised 11% of AI companies in Abu Dhabi, the management and operation of AI robotic systems accounted for 10%. Additionally, 8% of companies were involved in the wholesale trading of AI training, while retail of AI robots comprised 2%.
These efforts align with the chamber’s strategy to position Abu Dhabi as the top choice for business and talent in the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region by 2025.
