The Abu Dhabi Chamber of Commerce and Industry (ADCCI) has revealed promising forecasts for the UAE’s food and beverage sector. It projects a revenue of $38.3 billion in 2024, driven by a 19% increase in exports during the first half of the year.

These insights were shared at Global Food Week 2024, a significant event held under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan. The event, running until November 28th at the Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Centre (ADNEC), brings together industry experts, academics, and international businesses to discuss the latest trends and opportunities in the food and beverage sector.

The report highlights significant trends, including a forecasted $619 million in online food and beverage sales in Abu Dhabi by 2025, driven by the rise of e-commerce.

Additionally, consumer spending in the sector is expected to increase by 6.3% in 2024, reinforcing the industry’s sustainability and growth potential. The sector’s attractiveness is evident in the 2,540 new companies that joined ADCCI between January and October 2023, covering 178 activities and comprising 8.2% of the Chamber’s total membership.

The Chamber’s participation in the event highlights its commitment to supporting the UAE Food Security Strategy 2051 and fostering a thriving business environment in Abu Dhabi.

Shamis Ali Khalfan Al Dhaheri, Second Vice Chairman of ADCCI, emphasized the Chamber’s strategic focus. “Our participation in Global Food Week aims to strengthen Abu Dhabi’s position as a global investment hub in the food and beverage sector. It aligns with our efforts to support the prosperity of the local business ecosystem, providing both national and foreign businesses with opportunities to thrive and expand globally.”

As part of the Abu Dhabi International Food Exhibition 2024, ADCCI is hosting seven local small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) in its pavilion. This initiative aims to showcase the latest innovations and products while providing SMEs with opportunities to access regional and international markets, highlighting ADCCI’s commitment to nurturing local businesses.
