In a move to bolster Oman’s growing AI sector, the Oman Investment Authority (OIA) has acquired a significant stake in xAI, a US-based AI technology firm owned by billionaire Elon Musk.
This acquisition supports OIA’s strategy to diversify its investments globally and tap into emerging technologies. Ranked among the top five AI companies, xAI has made notable strides, including the establishment of a major data center and the launch of its upgraded Grok 2 platform. xAI aims to lead the AI industry with systems capable of analyzing real-time data, setting it apart from competitors.
In a video message, Musk expressed enthusiasm about the partnership with OIA, highlighting its potential to drive the development of superintelligent AI that can address complex global challenges. He also revealed that xAI is nearing the completion of training on its “Grok 3” model, which is expected to be the world’s most advanced AI system. This collaboration highlights OIA’s commitment to investing in cutting-edge technologies and xAI’s ambition to maintain its leadership in AI innovation.
