Flying taxis in Dubai? City unveils prototype ahead of 2026 rollout
Dubai is set to be the first city globally to launch an aerial taxi service, with operations expected to start in early 2026.
Dubai has unveiled a prototype of its highly anticipated aerial taxi at the Museum of the Future, highlighting the city’s push to transform urban mobility. Developed by Joby Aviation, the prototype is part of a collaboration between the museum and Dubai’s Roads and Transport Authority (RTA).
Majed Al Mansoori, executive director of the Museum of the Future, emphasized the museum’s role in showcasing innovations that are shaping the future of mobility. “Our partnership with the RTA underscores the museum’s mission to inspire groundbreaking ideas and foster a culture of innovation. It aligns with Dubai’s vision of achieving meaningful advancements that benefit society, guided by the aspirations of our leadership,” he noted.
