G42, the UAE-based technology group, has announced the publication of its Frontier AI Safety Framework, reinforcing its commitment to the AI Seoul Summit’s Frontier AI Safety Commitments and the Bletchley Declaration.

The newly launched framework establishes rigorous protocols for risk assessment, governance, and external oversight, ensuring the safe and responsible development of advanced AI models. As artificial intelligence continues to evolve, G42’s initiative aligns with global best practices to proactively identify and mitigate risks before they become critical.

“AI is the defining technology of our era—an essential utility that will reshape economies and societies, much like electricity did in the past,” said Peng Xiao, Group CEO of G42. “With such power comes responsibility. This framework reflects our commitment to AI safety, ensuring that innovation moves forward with the right safeguards.”

The framework adopts a multi-layered strategy to AI risk management, ensuring that advanced AI systems are developed, tested, and deployed responsibly. It includes:

The development of this framework was supported by METR and SaferAI, two leading AI risk experts, who provided insights to shape its governance and risk mitigation strategies.

As one of the first AI firms in the Middle East to introduce a comprehensive AI safety framework, G42 is reinforcing its position as a leader in AI governance and risk management. The company will continue engaging with regulators, policymakers, and industry partners to strengthen AI safety practices and contribute to global governance discussions.

To operationalize the Frontier AI Safety Framework, G42 has introduced the X-Risks Leaderboard, an open evaluation platform that measures AI model risks in cybersecurity, chemistry, and biology. Built on G42’s Safety Evaluation Suite at Inception, the leaderboard provides real-world assessments of AI vulnerabilities, ensuring measurable and transparent safeguards beyond theoretical policy discussions.

Building on its existing partnerships with Microsoft, NVIDIA, AMD, Cerebras, and Qualcomm, G42 remains committed to collaborating with other global AI safety commitment signatories. The company will continue sharing threat intelligence with industry partners to address emerging risks and strengthen AI governance worldwide.

With AI becoming an increasingly integral part of daily life and business operations, G42’s Frontier AI Safety Framework sets a significant precedent for the responsible development and deployment of AI technologies, ensuring a balance between innovation and security.
