Cisco is deepening its commitment to Saudi Arabia’s digital transformation with a series of strategic AI initiatives unveiled at LEAP 2025. The networking and security leader is investing in advanced cloud data centers, AI talent development, and local manufacturing, reinforcing its support for the kingdom’s Vision 2030.

Cisco introduced its cloud security and Webex collaboration data centers in Saudi Arabia as part of this expansion. The security data center will power Cisco’s cloud-based security services, including Secure Service Edge (SSE), Cisco Secure Access, and Umbrella DNS, strengthening cyber resilience for businesses and government entities.

Cisco is also expanding AI and digital skills development in Saudi Arabia through its Country Digital Acceleration (CDA) program, aligning with the kingdom’s Research and Development National Strategy.

A recent Cisco AI Readiness Index found that while 72% of Saudi organizations have an AI deployment strategy, only 46% have highly prepared talent—highlighting the need for workforce development.

To bridge this gap, Cisco is partnering with King Abdulaziz City for Science and Technology (KACST) to expand its Cisco Certified Internetwork Expert (CCIE) program, building a pipeline of skilled Saudi IT professionals.

Additionally, Cisco will establish a manufacturing base in Saudi Arabia, with groundwork starting in 2025. Initially focused on wireless technology fulfillment, the project will scale based on market demand, integrating Saudi Arabia into Cisco’s global supply chain alongside North America, Asia, and Europe.

“Our partnership with Cisco highlights the kingdom’s commitment to accelerating its digital economy through innovation,” said Haytham Alohali, Vice Minister at the Saudi Ministry of Communications and Information Technology. “These initiatives will enhance Saudi Arabia’s competitiveness both regionally and internationally by promoting innovation and the adoption of AI and cloud computing technologies.”

Cisco Chair and CEO Chuck Robbins reaffirmed the company’s commitment: “Through our investments and innovation, we are protecting organizations, preparing the Saudi workforce for the AI era, and contributing to the local economy and manufacturing ecosystem. Together, we will shape a more connected and secure future.”
