Audio tech company Devialet turns up its volume in GCC
Devialet CEO Jacques Demont says there’s a growing appetite among consumers in the region for immersive and unique sound experiences

French audio tech firm Devialet made a name for itself by selling some of the world’s most sophisticated and expensive wireless speakers. Its loud, bass-heavy Phantom speakers have fans ranging from Tesla CEO Elon Musk to YouTube star Marques Brownlee.
Founded in Paris in 2007 and backed by Jay Z and LVMH’s billionaire CEO Bernard Arnault, among others, Devialet has broadened its appeal in the last few years by selling more affordable products.
The company, which has tens of thousands of customers in Europe, and the US, is now casting its net a little further. Recently, Devialet opened a store in Dubai Mall. This marks a major milestone in its growth across the GCC.
“The UAE is a strategic market for Devialet, where luxury brands hold a strong status, offering recognition and aspiration that resonates with our DNA,” says Devialet CEO Jacques Demont. “Beyond luxury, we see a growing appetite among consumers for musical emotion, with an audience seeking immersive and unique sound experiences.”
As Dubai has been a premier shopping destination for over five decades, Demont says it offers the “perfect setting” to showcase its audio experiences to discerning customers and strengthen its regional presence.
LEADER IN SOUND INTELLIGENCE
Devialet, a leader in sound intelligence and owns a bunch of patents in the field, is renowned for its Analog Digital Hybrid (ADH) technology—a proprietary technology that has revolutionized audio amplification with unparalleled sound clarity while optimizing energy efficiency and device size. “It is more than a technology,” says Demont. “It is at the core of our commitment to delivering a groundbreaking audio experience that merges performance, innovation, and a compact design.”
“This synergy allows us to meet the highest expectations of music lovers while shaping the future of sound,” he adds.
Apart from ADH, Devialet’s 250 patented technologies include Speaker Active Matching, which ensures synchronization between the amplifier and the speakers connected to it; Heart Bass Implosion, which is the acoustic process that emits bass sounds with extreme depth and physical impact; Active Cospherical Engine wherein the speakers’ spherical design reproduce sound and diffuse its energy linearly in all directions, and Internal Delay Compensation algorithm, which acts directly on the transfer function of the anti-noise filter, ensuring that its response is optimized to extend the anti-noise’s range of action from infra bass to midrange.
Over the years, the company, which is at the intersection of audio engineering and luxury, has released soundbars, portable speakers, and wireless earbuds.
Research and development are central to Devialet’s strategy, which Demont says enables it to continuously challenge the market with groundbreaking innovations. While its products push the boundaries of acoustic engineering through innovations, its partnerships provide opportunities to expand the scope of innovation and research beyond its products. For example, the company partnered with Huawei to help build the latter’s smart speaker, Sound X.
“This dual approach ensures that Devialet remains at the forefront of technological and acoustic excellence,” says Demont.
BRINK OF A NEW REVOLUTION
Devialet’s chief said the firm is on the brink of a new revolution, marked by an unprecedented convergence of sound, artificial intelligence, and the Internet of Things.
More than ever, he says, it’s not just about meeting the expectations of a new generation of consumers—millennials and Gen Z—who will soon represent 75% of luxury buyers.
“They demand that brands embody strong values, push the boundaries of technological innovation, and provide an unparalleled user experience,” but Demont says Devialet’s ambition is to create the perfect intersection between its products, technologies, and customer aspirations.
“Our audio systems are no longer just sound emitters; they are already intelligent systems, capable of adapting in real-time to each user’s tastes, needs, and acoustic environment.”
Demont claims Devialet will continue to set the pace for evolution. To the audio aficionados, he says, “Imagine a world where every note, every tone is custom-calibrated for you, where sound becomes an extension of yourself, a companion for every moment.”
