Parkin Company PJSC, Dubai’s leading parking provider, has partnered with Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA) to expand the city’s electric vehicle (EV) charging network. Starting in the first quarter of 2025, DEWA will install new 22-kilowatt AC charging stations at key Parkin-managed locations across Dubai.

As part of the initiative, each charging station will serve two parking spaces. Installations will be focused on high-density residential areas in zones A and C to improve access for EV owners. Customers can pay for both parking and charging through Parkin’s mobile app and digital wallet, enhancing convenience. The collaboration seeks to accelerate EV adoption by enhancing charging accessibility while maximizing parking space efficiency and boosting revenue for Parkin.

“We continue to strengthen green mobility by encouraging the use of eco-friendly electric vehicles to reduce carbon emissions from the transport sector,” said Saeed Mohammed Al Tayer, MD and CEO of DEWA.

He highlighted how the initiative supports Dubai’s Green Mobility Strategy 2030 and the Dubai Social Agenda 33, reinforcing efforts to enhance urban living and sustainability.

Eng Mohamed Al Ali, CEO of Parkin, highlighted the company’s role in enabling the EV transition. “The installation of green chargers in key locations will enhance our world-class facilities, unlock new opportunities for growth, and incentivize EV adoption,” he stated.

DEWA currently operates around 740 EV Green Charger points across Dubai and plans to expand the network to 1,000 by the end of 2025. Launched in 2014, the EV Green Charger initiative has played a key role in promoting electric vehicle adoption in the emirate.
