Emirates and the Malta Tourism Authority have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) at ITB Berlin, Germany’s leading travel trade show, to promote Malta as a top leisure destination. The partnership focuses on driving inbound tourism to the Mediterranean island through joint marketing efforts.

The agreement, signed by Emirates’ Senior Vice President Thierry Aucoc and Malta Tourism Authority’s CEO Carlo Micallef, will leverage Emirates’ extensive global network to spotlight Malta’s unique attractions.

As part of the partnership, Emirates will organize media familiarization trips from key markets to showcase Malta’s appeal. The collaboration will also explore joint advertising campaigns and partnerships with tour operators and travel agents to create compelling travel packages.

“Malta has been a key destination in our European network for over two decades, and we’ve witnessed its growing popularity as a sought-after leisure gateway over the years,” said Adnan Kazim, Emirates’ Deputy President and Chief Commercial Officer. “This agreement reaffirms our commitment to supporting Malta’s tourism industry by leveraging our global reach to further boost inbound travel.”

Malta’s Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Foreign Affairs and Tourism, Hon. Ian Borg, highlighted the agreement’s importance in reinforcing the long-standing partnership between Malta and Emirates while extending their reach to a wider audience.

With over 1.2 million passengers flown between Dubai and Malta, Emirates has played a pivotal role in enhancing the island’s connectivity.
