Saudi Arabia and India have announced an expansion of their Strategic Partnership Council, introducing four new ministerial committees to further strengthen bilateral cooperation. These include dedicated committees for defence cooperation, tourism, and culture, reflecting the countries’ intent to broaden collaboration across key sectors.

According to the Saudi Press Agency (SPA), the development was shared in a joint statement issued at the conclusion of Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s recent visit to the Kingdom.

Both nations underscored the importance of uniting efforts to confront global challenges. In particular, they reaffirmed their commitment to working more closely within international platforms such as the G20, the International Monetary Fund, and the World Bank. The goal, they stated, is to “bolster efforts in addressing global economic challenges.”

The two sides noted the strong foundation of their relationship, which has evolved into a comprehensive strategic partnership covering a wide range of areas. These include defence, security, energy, trade, investment, technology, agriculture, culture, health, education, and people-to-people ties.

They also discussed regional and global issues of shared concern, exchanging views on key developments in the broader geopolitical landscape.
