Green Hydrogen Summit returns to Oman with global focus on clean energy
Organized by Birba Energy Services, the event will host over 3,000 global policymakers, investors, and energy experts.

Oman will host the fourth edition of the Green Hydrogen Summit Oman (GHSO 2025) from December 1 to 3, under the patronage of the Ministry of Energy and Minerals and in strategic partnership with Hydrogen Oman (Hydrom).
Birba Energy Services is organizing the event, which is expected to attract over 3,000 delegates, including international policymakers, investors, and clean energy leaders.
At a press briefing, Dr. Firas Ali al Abduwani, Director General of Renewable Energy and Hydrogen, described GHSO 2025 as a “milestone” in Oman’s green energy transition.
“Hosting this summit is an affirmation of our country’s objective of carbon neutrality,” he said, citing Oman’s strategic advantages such as ample land, robust port infrastructure, and favorable global positioning.
Dr. Al Abduwani emphasized the summit’s role in fostering a green hydrogen culture and assessing market readiness for investment and adoption. The event will further Oman’s hydrogen master plan, supporting energy security, emissions reduction, economic diversification, and local capacity building goals. Eight green hydrogen projects have already been awarded in Duqm and Dhofar.
Eng. Abdulaziz al Shidhani, Managing Director of Hydrom, highlighted the summit’s growing significance since its launch in 2021. “Although the summit did not take place in 2024, the momentum behind Oman’s green hydrogen strategy remains strong,” he said, reaffirming the event’s continued relevance as a platform for global engagement and sectoral innovation.
GHSO 2025 will feature technology exhibitions, policy dialogues, and business development sessions, aiming to promote international collaboration and showcase Oman’s progress in the clean hydrogen sector.
“As a nation committed to a green future of energy, we believe that this summit enables us to share our vision with the world, hear our global partners, and collectively shape the future of green hydrogen,” Al Shidhani concluded.
Backed by the public and private sectors, the summit aligns with Oman’s Vision 2040 and Net Zero 2050 targets, further establishing the Sultanate as the region’s growing clean energy hub.
