The Crown Prince of KSA Mohammed bin Salman, has launched a new artificial intelligence company, HUMAIN, as part of Saudi Arabia’s push to position itself as a global leader in AI technology and innovation. The initiative is a cornerstone of the Kingdom’s broader Vision 2030 strategy to diversify its economy and reduce dependence on oil.

Announced Monday, HUMAIN will operate under the Public Investment Fund (PIF) and focus on developing advanced AI models and infrastructure, including Arabic-language large language models (LLMs), next-generation data centers, and cloud computing capabilities.

The company will also deliver AI-powered solutions across key sectors such as energy, healthcare, manufacturing, and financial services.

The launch coincides with U.S. President Donald Trump’s visit to Saudi Arabia this week—the first stop on his Gulf tour—where artificial intelligence is expected to take center stage during a joint Saudi-U.S. investment forum in Riyadh.

The United States remains a key partner in the Kingdom’s expanding tech ambitions, with companies like Salesforce already committing $500 million in AI-related investments.

Saudi Arabia aims to become a global AI hub by leveraging its strategic geographic location, young tech-savvy population, and rapidly expanding digital infrastructure. The Kingdom was recently ranked first globally in government AI strategy by the 2024 Global AI Index.

HUMAIN will also support local innovation, protect intellectual property, and attract global talent and investment. By coordinating national efforts in AI and data technologies, the company aims to play a key role in advancing the Kingdom’s digital economy and global competitiveness.
