US and Qatar seal $1.2 trillion in deals, including record $96 billion Boeing order
Qatar signed $3 billion in defense deals for MQ-9B drones and Raytheon’s FS-LIDS, becoming the system’s first international buyer.

The United States and Qatar finalized economic agreements worth $1.2 trillion, headlined by a record-setting $96 billion deal for up to 210 Boeing aircraft — the largest widebody and 787 order in the aviation giant’s history, according to the White House.
“That’s fantastic. So that’s a record,” said US President Donald Trump during a signing ceremony with Qatar’s Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani. “It’s the largest order of jets in the history of Boeing.”
The agreements were signed during a high-level meeting in Washington, where the two leaders also discussed key geopolitical and economic issues, as well as expanding cooperation in defense, energy, education, investment, and cybersecurity.
The talks also touched on preparations for upcoming global sporting events—the FIFA World Cup 2026 and the 2028 Summer Olympics, both of which will be hosted in the US.
The two sides signed deals for advanced defense systems, including MQ-9B drones and Raytheon’s FS-LIDS, with Qatar becoming the first international customer. The counter-drone package is valued at $1 billion, while the drone deal with General Atomics is worth nearly $2 billion.
Among the broader deals, US-based quantum computing firm Quantinuum reached a joint venture agreement with Qatar’s Al Rabban Capital, committing up to $1 billion in investment for cutting-edge quantum technology development and workforce training in the US.
Washington and Doha also signed a statement of intent to deepen bilateral ties, outlining more than $38 billion in potential investments, including support for US defense infrastructure at Al Udeid Air Base and future air and maritime security projects.
The defense and commercial deals were overseen by senior officials from both nations, including US cabinet members from the departments of State, Defense, Treasury, Commerce, and Energy.
The Boeing deal includes 160 firm orders — 130 787s and 30 777Xs — with options for 50 more. All jets will use GE Aerospace engines, marking the company’s largest engine order to date.
President Trump praised the deepening partnership, thanking Sheikh Tamim for Qatar’s hospitality and calling him a “longtime friend and trusted partner.” Their rapport and the scale of the agreements signal a significant boost in US-Qatar relations, both strategically and economically.
