UAE empowers 250 humanitarian storytellers through Impact Makers initiative
The Impact Makers initiative aims to train 250 journalists and content creators specializing in humanitarian and development reporting.

As digital media continues to transform how global audiences engage with humanitarian issues, the UAE is taking proactive steps to empower content creators and journalists dedicated to this vital field.
The International Humanitarian and Philanthropic Council has launched five new programs aimed at training 250 journalists and content creators specializing in humanitarian and development reporting.
The initiative, titled Impact Makers, was launched under the directives of H.H. Sheikh Theyab bin Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Chairman of the Presidential Court for Development and Fallen Heroes’ Affairs. He also serves as Chairman of both the International Humanitarian and Philanthropic Council and the Board of Trustees of the Zayed Legacy Humanitarian Foundation.
The program is being implemented in collaboration with the New Media Academy, the first institution of its kind in the Middle East focused on digital media innovation. The academy is a subsidiary of the Visioneers Group, the UAE’s largest platform for content development and management.
Aimed at equipping participants with both technical skills and a strong understanding of humanitarian values, the training will help them create impactful content across various formats. Participants will learn how to write press releases that reflect humanitarian work, use storytelling techniques tailored to different media platforms, and apply modern tools to communicate meaningful messages effectively.
The Impact Makers initiative includes five modules, beginning with “Spokesperson Skills, Media Appearance, and Crisis Management in the Media,” followed by “Humanitarian Impact Journalism” and “Humanitarian Impact Content Creators,” which will be offered in two versions—one in collaboration with the Arab Youth Centre.
By investing in this new generation of storytellers, the UAE aims to raise awareness of humanitarian challenges and amplify the voices behind global relief efforts.
