King Abdulaziz International Airport sets new record with 53.4 million passengers
Annual traffic rises 12 percent as the airport strengthens its role under Vision 2030
Saudi Arabia’s King Abdulaziz International Airport has reached a new milestone, welcoming 53.4 million passengers in a single year, the highest figure ever recorded at a Saudi airport.
According to the Saudi Press Agency, the achievement places the airport among the world’s mega hubs in terms of passenger traffic. The facility handled 310,000 flights and processed 60.4 million bags in 2025, marking a 12 percent increase from the previous year. It also handled 9.57 million Zamzam water containers and nearly 3,000 cargo flights.
The milestone highlights the airport’s growing role as a regional aviation hub and a key contributor to the Kingdom’s Vision 2030 objectives, including enhanced connectivity, tourism growth, and economic diversification.
Mazen Johar, CEO of Jeddah Airports Co., said the record reflects the airport’s operational readiness and strategic progress. “Reaching 53.4 million passengers marks a pivotal moment for us as we prepare to double this number in the coming years,” he noted.
He attributed the achievement to the support of Saudi leadership, the Ministry of Transport and Logistics, and the General Authority of Civil Aviation, noting that ongoing expansion and modernization efforts are strengthening the airport’s position as a gateway connecting the Kingdom to global destinations.
