Saudi Arabia issues over 486,000 new commercial registries as total rises past 1.8 million
Artificial intelligence technologies led the way with a 34% rise to 19,042 registries, followed by travel and tourism organizations, which grew 31% to 10,665.
Saudi Arabia’s Ministry of Commerce has reported a sharp rise in commercial activity across key Vision 2030 sectors, underscoring the Kingdom’s accelerating economic diversification efforts.
According to the ministry, more than 486,000 new commercial registries were issued in 2025, bringing the total number of active registries to over 1.8 million. Company registrations increased by 20% year-on-year, reaching 192,000 in 2025 compared to 2024.
The growth reflects strong momentum across emerging and high-impact industries. Artificial intelligence technologies led the way with a 34% rise to 19,042 registries, followed by travel and tourism organizations, which grew 31% to 10,665.
Meanwhile, virtual and augmented reality technologies recorded a 29% increase to 11,725 registries, while cybersecurity activities grew 27% to 9,766. The electronic games manufacturing sector also saw a 27% rise, reaching 841 registries.
Expansion also extended to sustainability-focused sectors, with vehicle charging station operations increasing by 26% to 4,313 registries. The amusement and theme park sector rose 20% to 8,376 registries, while e-commerce maintained solid growth of 9%, reaching 43,854 registries in 2025.
