What Sharjah’s 2025 business data says about economic activity
Chamber reports strong trade activity, rising memberships, and expanded global partnerships as Sharjah strengthens its investment appeal.
The Sharjah Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SCCI) reported strong growth in 2025, registering 8,385 new companies and bringing its total active membership to 76,110. This represents an increase of more than 14% compared to 2024.
The figures were announced during the Chamber’s first board meeting of 2026, chaired by Abdallah Sultan Al Owais. He said Sharjah continues to strengthen its position as a competitive investment destination that supports business growth and innovation.
In addition to new registrations, SCCI recorded 67,725 membership renewals and 2,288 free zone memberships. The Chamber also issued 90,983 certificates of origin, with exports and re-exports totaling approximately AED 21 billion ($5.71 billion). These figures reflect the emirate’s expanding trade activity.
Director-General Mohammed Ahmed Amin Al Awadi noted that the Chamber led trade missions to more than seven countries in 2025, including its first official mission to Mauritius. During the year, SCCI also signed 8 memoranda of understanding with international partners to strengthen cross-border cooperation.
Meanwhile, the Sharjah Training and Development Centre delivered several key initiatives, including the Strategic Business Leadership Programme. It also signed nine international cooperation agreements with entities in the UK, France, and Spain.
Sectoral Business Groups expanded their activities by establishing new units, including Legal and Hospitality groups, and by launching the “Business Impact” podcast to encourage greater industry dialogue.
The Chamber also supported 30 local and international initiatives, while entries for the Sharjah Excellence Award increased by 34%. Major commercial and community events, including the Al Dhaid Dates Festival and Sharjah Shopping Promotions, further strengthened Sharjah’s profile as a commercial and family-friendly destination.
Through these initiatives, SCCI continues to support Sharjah’s role in enhancing the UAE’s overall economic competitiveness and advancing sustainable development goals.
