In line with the national cybersecurity strategy, Saudi Arabia’s National Cybersecurity Authority (NCA) has introduced a new program called CyberIC. This program aims to develop the domestic cybersecurity sector and increase the number of startups with the help of a cybersecurity accelerator.

CyberIC will support 40 startups working in this sector and help set up 20 new companies through the cybersecurity challenge.

The program also aims to develop “the skills of more than 10,000 Saudis and stimulate the wider domestic cybersecurity sector in line with international best practices.” According to a statement, the program is based on six main tracks: innovation and entrepreneurship, cybersecurity officers, cybersecurity trainers, fresh graduates, cybersecurity specialists, and law enforcement agencies.

CyberIC is designed to be executed in a phased manner. The first phase will help upskill government employees across fields and spread awareness about cyber security. It will also look to localize cybersecurity technology and training content.

This program will launch the second version of the cybersecurity challenge. NCA will offer programs for chief information security officers (CISOs) in cooperation with some of the most prestigious international universities in the field.

Moreover, CyberIC will help train 10,000 individuals from the cybersecurity sector, including 1,500 national authorities, 150 cybersecurity officials, and 5,000 individuals, on various leadership skills and advanced cyber exercises.
