On the path to creating a vibrant and creative destination in Dubai synonymous with art and culture, the Higher Committee of the Al Quoz Creative Zone has approved a master plan to provide housing for over 8,000 people and attract 33,000 visitors a day.

The integrated community plan, developed by the Dubai Municipality, offers professionals, businesspeople, and artists a cost-effective working and living environment. It has been approved following research with several top local and international creative clusters and drawing from best practices.

The thorough plan aims to improve the community’s infrastructure, public services, and spaces over the next four years, building a welcoming environment for creatives and entrepreneurs in the UAE.

The Al Quoz area, currently one of the most popular spaces among artists, is home to abundant community-minded venues equipped with art galleries, creative co-working spaces, and locally-owned restaurants.

Phase one of the project would include transportation integration, providing three transportation hubs, a pedestrian and bicycle bridge over Al Manara Street connecting Al Safa Metro Station and Al Quoz Bus Station to Al Quoz Creative Zone, and infrastructure networks. Phase two would entail the creation of public areas and site coordination, while the placement of public artworks across the zone will be covered in step three.

“Launched as part of our leadership’s vision of transforming Dubai’s creative economy and raising its contribution to local GDP, the project creates a model for Dubai’s future creative zones. The zone’s development will further raise the emirate’s position as a regional and global destination for creatives,” said Sheikha Latifa bint Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Chairperson of Dubai Culture and Arts Authority and Member of the Dubai Council.
