Royal Commission for AlUla signs deal to boost private sector role in education
The agreement with the National Company for Learning and Education will support the development and operation of a comprehensive educational complex in AlUla.
The Royal Commission for AlUla (RCU) has signed an investment agreement with National Company for Learning and Education (NCLE) to lease, operate, and develop an educational complex in AlUla through Trbyh Namouthajyah Schools, as part of efforts to enhance the quality of education and expand learning opportunities for students in the region.
The agreement aligns with RCU’s broader strategy to attract high-quality investments across key sectors, including education, which it considers essential to sustainable development and long-term economic growth.
Under the partnership, existing educational assets in AlUla will be upgraded and integrated into a comprehensive educational institution serving students from early childhood through secondary education. The project will be implemented in line with approved regulatory standards and international best practices.
RCU said the initiative is designed to strengthen educational infrastructure, support human capital development, and create a more attractive environment for residents, families, and professionals.
As part of the agreement, RCU will facilitate the project’s implementation by providing incentives and procedural support, including the handover of assets in accordance with agreed timelines and coordination with relevant authorities to secure the necessary licenses and regulatory approvals.
NCLE, meanwhile, will be responsible for developing, equipping, and operating the educational facilities. The company will also oversee operational maintenance, ensure compliance with academic and regulatory standards, and manage the school’s day-to-day operations.
The agreement reflects RCU’s continued focus on strengthening strategic partnerships and enabling greater private sector participation in AlUla’s development journey.
RCU said the partnership will contribute to building an integrated educational ecosystem that supports community aspirations and keeps pace with AlUla’s ongoing transformation and broader development plans.
