UAE unveils Skills Platform to strengthen workforce readiness for future economy
The initiative aims to strengthen alignment between academic outcomes and future workforce demands.
The Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research and the Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratisation have launched the “UAE Skills Platform” under the direction of the Education, Human Development and Community Development Council.
The initiative reflects the UAE’s efforts to develop an integrated, skills-based ecosystem that aligns education outcomes with labor market needs and enhances talent readiness for the future economy.
The platform forms part of a national model for managing and developing human capital by integrating education policies with the priorities of key economic sectors. It aims to create stronger alignment between academic outcomes and workforce requirements in line with international best practices.
Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Chairman of the Education, Human Development and Community Development Council, said human development remains a key pillar in advancing the country’s growth agenda.
He highlighted the importance of aligning skills development with national investments in priority sectors to ensure talent readiness for the future economy while strengthening integration between economic and education policies.
Sheikha Mariam bint Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan said enabling individuals through clear academic and career pathways supports the development of a cohesive, learning-driven society and helps prepare talent to contribute to the UAE’s development journey.
The UAE Skills Platform is a unified, data-driven national framework that connects education outcomes with labor-market needs. It aims to provide greater clarity on in-demand skills, support the development of academic programs aligned with economic and technological shifts, and serve as a practical reference for academic and career decision-making.
