Ajman launches $490 million urban development agenda with 30 projects through 2030
The new agenda comprises 30 projects focused on roads, infrastructure, sustainable mobility and public spaces.
Ajman has launched a new urban development agenda that will invest AED1.8 billion ($490 million) in 30 infrastructure, mobility, and public space projects through 2030, as the emirate seeks to enhance the quality of life and support long-term sustainable growth.
The Ajman Municipality Agenda AM30x30, launched by H.H. Sheikh Ammar bin Humaid Al Nuaimi, Crown Prince of Ajman and Chairman of the Executive Council, outlines an integrated roadmap comprising 30 projects across five strategic pillars. The program aligns with Ajman Vision 2030 and aims to strengthen the emirate’s urban infrastructure, transport network, green spaces, and community facilities.
Officials said the agenda also supports the UAE’s Year of the Family by placing residents and families at the heart of urban planning through investments in transport, public amenities, and sustainable development.
Sheikh Ammar said the initiative reflects the vision of H.H. Sheikh Humaid bin Rashid Al Nuaimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Ajman, to further strengthen the emirate’s position as an attractive destination to live, work, and invest.
He added that the 30 projects underscore Ajman’s commitment to investing in sustainable infrastructure to improve public services, enhance quality of life, and drive long-term economic and social development.
The program is structured around five strategic packages covering roads, infrastructure, sustainable mobility, and public spaces. Between 2026 and 2030, Ajman plans to increase the delivery of new roads by 43% compared with the previous five-year period, while expanding its cycling network by 33%.
The first package comprises six major road projects, including upgrades in Al Zorah, improvements to several key roads and roundabouts, the construction of pedestrian bridges, and supporting stormwater drainage and landscaping works.
The second and third packages focus on expanding and upgrading internal road networks across residential areas in Ajman, Masfout, and Al Manama, alongside drainage and landscaping projects.
The fourth package will add 16 kilometers of cycling infrastructure across Ajman city, Masfout, and Al Manama. It also includes the development of the Al Uqdah Walkway to encourage active mobility and outdoor recreation.
The fifth package aims to expand green spaces and public amenities by developing 330,000 square meters of parks and community spaces across several residential districts. The projects are designed to improve environmental sustainability, enhance community wellbeing, and increase the availability of public recreational space to 4.79 square meters per resident by 2030.
