DIEZ and Salik partner to roll out smart mobility solutions across Dubai free zones
The partnership will introduce smart access control and parking optimization across more than 21,000 parking spaces in Dubai's free zones, while marking Salik's expansion into a new mobility business.
Dubai Integrated Economic Zones Authority (DIEZ) and Salik have signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) to develop smart mobility solutions across Dubai’s key economic zones, as the emirate accelerates efforts to digitize transport infrastructure and improve traffic management.
The partnership will introduce access control systems and parking optimization solutions across more than 21,000 parking spaces at Dubai Airport Freezone (DAFZ), Dubai Silicon Oasis (DSO), and Dubai CommerCity (DCC). The initiative aims to improve vehicle flow and enhance the experience for businesses, investors, and visitors.
It supports Dubai’s broader smart mobility and digital transformation agenda by integrating advanced technologies to streamline operations, improve efficiency, and create a more seamless mobility experience across DIEZ’s three free zones.
For Salik, the collaboration marks the launch of a new smart mobility business vertical beyond its core toll gate operations. For DIEZ, it will strengthen digital infrastructure through unified access control standards, smarter parking management, and enhanced operational capabilities.
“Our collaboration with Salik reflects DIEZ’s ongoing commitment to adopting advanced digital solutions and forging strategic partnerships that contribute to delivering more efficient and seamless services for businesses operating within our economic zones,” said Eng. Muammar Al Katheeri, Chief Officer of Engineering and Sustainability at DIEZ.
He added that the partnership aligns with the goals of the Dubai Economic Agenda (D33) by supporting innovation-led growth and reinforcing the emirate’s position as a global hub for business, investment, and technology.
Ibrahim Sultan Al Haddad, CEO of Salik, said the agreement would unlock new opportunities to improve vehicle movement and operational efficiency across Dubai’s free zones.
“This initiative also marks the launch of a new smart mobility vertical for Salik, reinforcing our contribution to Dubai’s vision for intelligent, connected infrastructure,” he said.
Under the agreement, the two organizations will explore integrating their digital platforms and mobility systems to enable smarter traffic management, stronger access controls, and more efficient use of parking infrastructure across the economic zones.
The partnership is expected to create a more integrated mobility ecosystem that supports commercial growth while improving infrastructure efficiency and the overall customer experience.
