Dubai opens 102-meter bridge at Mushrif National Park

Dubai Municipality has opened a new 102-meter bridge at Mushrif National Park, expanding the park’s infrastructure for mountain biking, hiking and outdoor recreation.

The bridge connects two sections of the park’s mountain biking trail, allowing riders to continue their journey without stopping to cross a road used by vehicles. It features two dedicated lanes, one for mountain bikers and another exclusively for hikers.

The project is part of Dubai Municipality’s ongoing development of Mushrif National Park as a destination for adventure, outdoor recreation and active lifestyles. It also responds to growing interest in mountain biking, hiking and nature-based activities by providing purpose-built infrastructure designed to make trails safer and more accessible.

“The new bridge represents a significant addition to Mushrif National Park and transforms the mountain biking experience by creating a continuous connection between two sections of the trail,” said Bader Anwahi, CEO of the Public Facilities Agency at Dubai Municipality.

He added that mountain bikers can now travel between the sections without crossing vehicle traffic, creating a “safer, smoother and more enjoyable experience” through the park.

Mushrif National Park is Dubai’s largest forest and one of the emirate’s major green and recreational destinations, attracting families, cyclists, hikers, fitness enthusiasts and nature explorers.

The bridge strengthens the park’s existing mountain biking and hiking network while improving connectivity between its trails and natural areas.

“Our approach to developing Mushrif National Park goes beyond adding individual facilities,” Anwahi said. “We are creating an integrated outdoor destination where adventure, nature and active lifestyles come together.”

The project forms part of Dubai’s wider efforts to integrate outdoor recreation and active lifestyles into the city’s public spaces while expanding the range of experiences available to residents and visitors.
