Modon and Montage launch Egypt’s first branded luxury residences at Ras El Hekma
Montage Ras El Hekma will bring branded luxury residences and hospitality experiences to Egypt’s Mediterranean coast.
Modon Holding and Montage Hotels & Resorts have unveiled Montage Ras El Hekma, introducing the first branded residences for purchase in Ras El Hekma on Egypt’s Mediterranean coast. The development also marks the debut of the Montage brand in Egypt, reinforcing the emerging city’s ambitions to position itself as a global destination for tourism, business, and leisure.
The luxury resort will feature 200 guestrooms and suites alongside 96 Montage Residences, offering a mix of hospitality, wellness, and lifestyle experiences. Amenities will include beachfront swimmable lagoons, Spa Montage with 13 treatment rooms, six dining venues, retail outlets, and family-focused attractions.
Positioned as the experiential centerpiece of the wider community, the resort will also include event spaces, expansive outdoor lawns and terraces, and a dedicated Owners’ Clubhouse designed to complement the private residential setting.
The residences form part of an exclusive ownership offering within a coastal environment spanning 2.25 kilometres of shoreline, championship golf fairways, an integrated marina, and curated hospitality experiences.
Bill O’Regan, Group CEO of Modon Holding, said Montage Hotels & Resorts’ reputation for delivering luxury hospitality experiences aligned closely with Modon’s long-term vision for Ras El Hekma.
“Montage Hotels & Resorts are renowned for serving affluent travellers and homeowners, delivering an elevated guest experience and a commitment to refined living while remaining authentic to their surroundings. This ethos aligns closely with Modon’s vision for Ras El Hekma, where we are creating a distinctive Mediterranean destination defined by quality, experience and long-term value,” he said.
Montage Residences Ras El Hekma will include a collection of 96 branded villas located within Wadi Yemm, the first precinct of the broader Ras El Hekma development. Designed to maximise natural light, privacy, and indoor-outdoor living, the three- to six-bedroom villas will face the Mediterranean Sea, with selected homes offering views of both the coastline and the championship golf course.
Alan J. Fuerstman, Founder, Chairman and CEO of Montage International, described the project as a major milestone for the brand’s global expansion.
“Bringing the Montage brand to Egypt with Modon is a truly exciting milestone in our global journey. Ras El Hekma is a remarkable destination, where rich heritage and thoughtful design come together in a way that is redefining luxury along the Mediterranean coast,” he said.
“We are honoured to collaborate with Modon to bring this vision to life and to build on their outstanding reputation for creating vibrant communities and delivering world-class sporting and lifestyle experiences.”
Montage Ras El Hekma is part of the wider $35 billion Ras El Hekma masterplan, a 170.8 million square metre development designed to transform Egypt’s Northern Coast into a next-generation city expected to attract $110 billion in investment by 2045.
The resort and residences will be located within Wadi Yemm, the first of 17 planned precincts under active development. The district will also include cultural landmarks such as the Ras El Hekma Lighthouse and a large-scale amphitheatre capable of hosting up to 10,000 guests for cultural and entertainment events.
Designed for connectivity by road, sea, and air, Ras El Hekma will include a new international airport integrated with high-speed rail, highways, marinas, and a dedicated cruise terminal. Located within four hours’ flight time of nearly half of the world’s population, the destination is being positioned as a major Mediterranean tourism and investment hub.
Spanning 44 kilometres of coastline, the development will combine hospitality, residential, cultural, educational, and financial districts aimed at creating a year-round urban community.
Upon completion, Ras El Hekma is expected to contribute approximately $25 billion annually to Egypt’s GDP and generate around 750,000 jobs, making it one of the region’s largest urban development and investment projects.
