Ras Al Khaimah aims to have around 12,800 hotel rooms by the next five years, provided by over 50 hotels and resorts offering class service, as said by Raki Philips, CEO, Ras Al Khaimah Tourism Development Authority (RAKTDA), to Emirate News Agency (WAM).

The emirate is diversifying its hospitality portfolio by setting up accommodations on Earth Hotels Altitude, Jebel Jais, and Sage Lodge – Mantis Group’s destination in the mountains.

Cloud7 Camp Jebel Jais would be another addition to the plan, offering visitors a luxurious camping experience. The site will have 30 accommodation units made of sustainable materials.

During the interview, Philips also announced RAKTDA’s plans to inaugurate an integrated project on Marjan Islan by 2026. The place will cover an area of 250,000 square meters and will have over 1,000 rooms and retail stores.

The emirate welcomed over 21% more visitors in the first half of 2022 compared to last year and is on track to match the pre-pandemic levels by crossing over 1 million footfall by the end of this year.

RAKTDA is also looking at promoting hospitality offers over the coming five years, encouraging the construction of some new hotels, like Marriott, Anantara, and Westin, and adding 4,167 rooms.
