Saudi Arabia adds over 11 million jobs in private sector in April, claims report

The report shows the net increase in citizen employment for April, as 18,535 individuals newly joined the private sector workforce.

Employment opportunities have expanded as Saudi Arabia prioritizes economic diversification efforts in line with Vision 2030 and the development of giga-projects such as NEOM. A report has indicated a rising trend in private sector jobs within the Gulf state, with 11.27 million employees hired in April.

The Saudi National Labor Observatory (NLO) report highlighted the net increase in citizen employment for April, with 18,535 individuals newly joining the private sector workforce.

Moreover, over 2.35 million Saudi nationals are in the workforce, comprising more than 970,200 female workers and over 1.38 million male workers.

The NLO report also highlighted that the total number of residents employed in the private sector surpassed 8.91 million individuals. This included over 8.55 million male workers and a smaller number of 364,900 female employees.

Overall, the report provides an overview of the kingdom’s private sector, showcasing a dynamic workforce of over 9.9 million male and more than 1.3 million female workers.

In February of this year, the total number of employees in the Saudi private sector saw a 0.9% increase from January, reaching 11.1 million. During the same month, the net growth in jobs for Saudi nationals and residents amounted to 26,694, indicating a positive and steady increase in employment within Saudi Arabia’s private sector.
