Dubai launches initiative to establish 50 Emirati-owned engineering companies
The three-month programme aims to help Emiratis launch businesses in contracting and engineering consultancy.
In a move to support Emirati entrepreneurship and strengthen local participation in Dubai’s housing sector, the Mohammed Bin Rashid Housing Establishment (MBRHE) has signed a cooperation agreement with Dubai Municipality, the Emirati Human Resources Development Council (EHRDC), and the New Economy Academy to launch the Engineers Incubator initiative.
The initiative aims to establish 50 Emirati-owned companies specializing in contracting and engineering consultancy, creating new opportunities for UAE nationals to enter the engineering and construction industries.
Through a three-month intensive training program, participants will receive professional qualifications, specialized training, and hands-on experience in engineering projects, equipping them with the skills needed to establish and manage sustainable businesses.
The program seeks to transform Emirati engineering talent into entrepreneurs capable of contributing to the development and implementation of housing projects across Dubai.
It will also support the establishment of engineering consultancy offices, contracting firms, and maintenance companies owned and operated by UAE nationals.
The initiative follows a six-stage development model covering recruitment, qualification, practical application, business establishment, empowerment, and sustainability.
By combining theoretical knowledge with practical field experience, the program aims to enhance project execution standards, increase the participation of Emirati-owned businesses in the housing sector, and create long-term economic and professional opportunities.
Beyond entrepreneurship, the initiative is expected to strengthen national engineering and construction capabilities while supporting the development of a more competitive and sustainable local business ecosystem.
The programme also aligns with Dubai’s broader economic and urban development priorities, including the Dubai Economic Agenda, the Dubai 2040 Urban Master Plan, and the Sustainable Development Goals.
Through the Engineers Incubator, the participating entities aim to develop a new generation of Emirati entrepreneurs while expanding the role of national talent in shaping Dubai’s housing and construction sectors.
