Abu Dhabi’s technology ecosystem reached a new milestone in 2025, with startups within the Hub71 community raising more than $2.7 billion in funding and generating $1.5 billion in revenue since the platform’s launch in 2019.
According to Hub71’s 2025 Impact Report, the ecosystem has grown to 390 startups, highlighting Abu Dhabi’s increasing appeal as a destination for high-growth technology companies seeking access to capital, customers and international markets.
During 2025 alone, startups within the Hub71 community secured $599 million in funding and generated $176 million in revenue, extending a period of sustained growth across the ecosystem.
Since its launch, Hub71 has supported 295 startups through its programs and continues to connect founders with investors, corporates, regulators, talent and strategic partners as part of Abu Dhabi’s efforts to build a diversified, innovation-driven economy.
Demand from founders continued to accelerate during 2025, with Hub71 receiving more than 5,000 startup applications, a 62% increase compared with the previous year. The platform welcomed 52 new startups during the year.
Hub71 said the increase reflects growing international interest in Abu Dhabi among companies seeking funding opportunities and expansion into markets across the Middle East, Asia and Africa.
Beyond fundraising, startups within the ecosystem signed corporate agreements worth $244 million between 2022 and 2025. Of that total, $37 million was generated in 2025, underscoring the platform’s role in helping startups secure commercial partnerships and accelerate market adoption.
Ahmed Jasim Al Zaabi, Chairman of Hub71 and the Abu Dhabi Department of Economic Development (ADDED), said the results reflected Abu Dhabi’s progress in building a more competitive, innovation-led economy.
He said startups are contributing to investment and long-term economic growth while reinforcing the emirate’s position as a location where technology companies can establish, scale and compete internationally.
Hub71 expanded its international network during 2025 through partnerships with venture capital firms, corporates and government organizations in Hong Kong, Japan, Portugal, India, Ireland and the United States, creating new commercial and investment opportunities for startups expanding from Abu Dhabi.
To support international founders, the organization launched its Immersion Program, bringing high-potential startups to Abu Dhabi for market-entry and commercialization support. It also introduced Hub71+ Life Sciences, adding healthcare, biotechnology and advanced life sciences to its existing specialist platforms focused on AI, climate technology and digital assets.
Ahmad Ali Alwan, Chief Executive Officer of Hub71, said the community’s growth reflects Abu Dhabi’s increasing attractiveness to entrepreneurs and the strength of the ecosystem supporting startup development.
