Dubai Customs outlines 26 initiatives to strengthen trade and customs services by 2030

Dubai Customs has launched its Strategic Plan 2026–2030, outlining a new roadmap to strengthen trade flows, improve customs services and reinforce Dubai’s position as a global trade and investment hub.

Launched under the theme “Enabling Trusted Trade… Enabling the Economy,” the strategy includes six strategic objectives, 10 sub-objectives and 26 initiatives to be implemented by 2030.

The plan focuses on simplifying customs procedures, strengthening economic partnerships, improving the stakeholder experience, and preparing Dubai Customs for changes in global trade and supply chains.

A key part of the strategy is greater integration between ports, entry points, free zones and trade-related services, aimed at creating a more seamless experience for businesses and investors.

Abdulla bin Damithan, Chairman of the Ports, Customs and Free Zone Corporation, said the strategy would strengthen coordination across the corporation’s entities while helping Dubai respond to changing global trade patterns.

“We are strengthening the integration of Dubai’s gateways and services,” he said, adding that the strategy would support more efficient trade flows and boost investor and business confidence.

Dubai Customs Director General Dr. Abdulla Busenad said the strategy is designed to link faster, more transparent customs services to business growth.

“The more efficient and transparent our procedures are, and the faster and more reliable our services become, the greater the ability of businesses to plan, grow and access markets,” he said.

The six objectives include facilitating trade, strengthening security and compliance, securing revenues, advancing economic partnerships, improving stakeholder experience and embedding organizational excellence.

Through the 26 initiatives, Dubai Customs aims to build a more agile customs ecosystem capable of responding to emerging trade trends while supporting Dubai’s broader economic competitiveness.
