Emirati women account for 54.7% of Dubai Government employees

Emirati women now make up 54.7% of all Emirati employees across Dubai Government entities, highlighting their growing role in the emirate’s public-sector workforce.

According to data released by the Dubai Government Human Resources Department (DGHR) for Emirati Women’s Day, 12,571 Emirati women currently work across government entities. Of these, 2,289 hold leadership or supervisory positions.

Emirati women also account for 43.8% of the workforce across vital sectors including healthcare, energy, services, transport, security, justice and the economy.

The workforce data points to a mix of younger talent and experienced employees. More than 48% of Emirati women employees are classified as young talent, while 53% are married.

The figures come as the UAE marks Emirati Women’s Day under the theme “We Emerge Stronger and Better,” with DGHR positioning women’s participation as an important part of Dubai’s future government workforce.

“Women’s talent across the Government of Dubai today demonstrates their ability to transform opportunities into achievements, experience into impact, and ambition into meaningful contributions,” said Abdullah Ali bin Zayed Al Falasi, director general of DGHR.

The department said it is developing pathways to prepare Emirati women for executive and leadership roles while building skills in fields including technology, engineering, IT, and healthcare.
