EMSTEEL Group has partnered with the Technology Innovation Institute (TII) to develop and validate high-strength steel reinforcement solutions to enhance the resilience of the UAE’s critical infrastructure.

The collaboration brings together EMSTEEL’s advanced steel manufacturing capabilities and TII’s expertise in applied research to assess the performance of EMSTEEL’s ES600 high-strength rebar under demanding impact and protection scenarios. The initiative also lays the groundwork for developing specialized reinforcement grades tailored for resilience-critical applications across strategic national assets and essential public infrastructure.

The partnership reflects the UAE’s broader push to strengthen local industrial capabilities while advancing innovation in sectors critical to long-term economic growth and national resilience.

“This collaboration reflects EMSTEEL’s commitment to advancing innovation that supports the UAE’s long-term infrastructure and industrial priorities,” said Eng. Saeed Ghumran Al Remeithi, Group CEO of EMSTEEL.

“By combining our expertise in advanced steel manufacturing with TII’s world-class research and engineering capabilities, we are creating the foundation for next-generation reinforcement solutions designed for the nation’s most critical and strategically important assets,” he said.

Al Remeithi added that the collaboration will strengthen local manufacturing capabilities, accelerate knowledge development and reinforce the role of UAE-produced steel in supporting sustainable economic growth and infrastructure resilience.

Under the agreement, researchers from both organizations will jointly evaluate the structural performance of ES600 reinforcement steel using advanced material characterization, simulation technologies, and impact-response assessments. The findings are expected to inform the development of future reinforcement products engineered for high-risk, mission-critical environments.

“This collaboration brings together TII’s strengths in material characterization, advanced simulation and impact-response assessment with EMSTEEL’s world-class steelmaking expertise,” said Dr. Najwa Aaraj, CEO of the Technology Innovation Institute.

“Together, we are validating high-strength reinforcement for the most demanding protection applications and building the scientific foundation for next-generation solutions developed in the UAE to safeguard the resilience of the nation’s most critical infrastructure,” she added.

The agreement comes as the UAE continues to invest in advanced manufacturing, research and development, and industrial innovation as part of its strategy to build a globally competitive, knowledge-based economy.

For EMSTEEL, the partnership forms part of a broader effort to expand the use of high-performance steel across increasingly sophisticated applications while supporting national priorities related to infrastructure resilience, technological advancement and industrial self-sufficiency.
